Mission 1:27 Project – 11th Edition

Jun 24, 2021

Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress…James 1:27a. We were honored to have our 11th Edition of the Mission 1:27 project as part of our Celebration of Life Events for our Honoree, the late Mrs. Ruth Ebunlomo Olagunju. Our Honoree lived a life of generosity. We thought it was only fitting to include events with acts of generosity as part of the Celebration of Life Events leading up to her burial. It is bittersweet to know she is no longer with us but count it an honor and joy to carry on her legacy of generosity. She will be greatly missed but her generous heart will live on through the foundation.

Truly, it is easy to say that the blessing of giving is so great. Each one of the recipients, the widows, and widowers, were so grateful for the gift of 5kg/11lbs of food to each one of them. We were able to distribute food to 278 recipients. We were so touched to experience their gratitude and the honor they continue to give Ebunlomo Olagunju Foundation for what we are doing in the community. The widows and widowers in the community surprised us at the event. They had taken up a donation and took a moment to thank the Foundation and gave a monetary gift. It was so touching. Those who seem to have the least have given the most. Our hearts were full! “It is more blessed to give than to receive.” That principle is so very true as we continue to receive so much joy and blessing as we continue to bless others.

A very special thank you to all the dignitaries who attended the event, the Implementation Committee, Board of Trustees, and our generous donors who continue to make this possible. We are forever grateful for your support. To God be the glory!
