FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Ebunlomo Olagunju Foundation Applauds Kwara State Government and Kwara State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) for Strengthening Education in Igosun

Igosun, Kwara State, Nigeria – June 30, 2025 — The Ebunlomo Olagunju Foundation, in collaboration with the Igosun Descendants Progressive Union (IDPU), the Chairman of the Education Committee of IDPU, and the Kwara State Government through the Kwara State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM), proudly announces a major milestone in its mission to uplift education within the Igosun community.

Following the Foundation’s outreach during EDUQUEST 2024, a flagship educational initiative, the Kwara State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) has formally deployed six (6) teachers and two (2) non-teaching staff to Government Secondary School, Igosun, along with two (2) teachers and two (2) non-teaching staff to Igosun High School. This significant move directly addresses staffing gaps previously identified by the Foundation and community stakeholders.

The request was driven by insights gathered during EDUQUEST 2024, where both Mr. Omogoye-Ojo Bamidele Ayodeji, Commission’s Affair Secretary, Kwara State Teaching Service Commission, and Pastor Isaac Olayinka Olagunju, President of the Ebunlomo Olagunju Foundation, observed firsthand the performance gaps linked to teacher shortages. Mr. Omogoye-Ojo’s willingness to engage, listen, and advocate on behalf of Igosun was instrumental in facilitating the recent staff deployments that is a life-changing intervention for the students of Igosun.

“This is more than just a response to a request—it is a testimony of what can happen when community voices are heard and government partners take action,” said Pastor Isaac Olayinka Olagunju. “We are incredibly grateful to the Kwara State Government and the Kwara State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) for showing that every child in Igosun matters.”

Since its inception in 2016, the Ebunlomo Olagunju Foundation has remained steadfast in its mission to uplift education in Igosun. To date, it has invested over ₦11 million in programs spanning school supply distributions, teacher conference, advisory board development, and student competitions. The Foundation views education not simply as a sector of service, but as the foundation for long-term community transformation.

This milestone serves as a model for how civil society and public institutions can work together to solve real challenges at the grassroots level. For the community of Igosun, it is a step toward equity in education— and stands as a powerful reminder that collective action not only makes progress possible, but inevitable.
